Soho Pizza introduces their first dine-in, standalone restaurant in upscale Thonglor

A sneak peek into the brand’s newest Instagrammable sensation.

On the 8th of October, Masala attended Soho Pizza’s Grand Opening Party of their latest New York-style branch, where free-flow drinks and pizza slices abounded. Just a minute’s walk from Thonglor soi 10, the two-storey space immediately caught our eye with a floor-to-ceiling mural in Soho’s striking red and black, of the Statue of Liberty with a pizza slice in place of her signature torch. Red borders on white tiles completed their modern take on the archetypal diner, while a glass case behind the cherry-red bar tempted the eye with its array of flavours.

Soho Pizza’s first dine-in restaurant in town, visitors can order at the front of the bar then collect their order around the corner, making for an efficient and uncrowded experience. We went straight for the classic Cheese pizza (THB 99 per slice) as well as a more adventurous option, Roasted mushroom (THB 109 per slice) which consisted of roasted mushroom, mozzarella, garlic cream, and lemon zest. While one can never go wrong with cheese, the latter was a surprisingly rich combination, especially for fans of mushrooms – make sure to add some of the provided chilli oil for that extra kick. There were far more flavours than can be listed here, but the wealth of options included the unusual Potato & pancetta (THB 119 per slice) and Shrimp scampi (THB 99 per slice) with marinated shrimp and lemon cream, which I definitely had my eye on for the next time I visit.

While the ground floor had limited bar-type seating available, we chose to take our slices to the floor above, which had enough space for around 30 people. There are a variety of seating options available, from bench seating to cocktail-style tables and chairs. There’s also an all-important Instagrammable wall with a neon sign that proclaims that the pizza is ‘Mine! All Mine’ – and who on your Instagram feed wouldn’t be able to relate?

By the time we left, the line of well-wishers and intrigued Bangkokians looking to sample the famed New York pizzas went around the block. A testament to the brand’s renown in the city and the appeal of their distinct point of view, we’re sure this newest branch in the bustling heart of Thonglor will continue to draw droves of pizza and New York fans alike.
