Yesterday, photos emerged of Sarah Jessica Parker wearing a purple two piece and detailed braided hairdo while filming And Just Like That… in New York City, the Sex and the City spinoff that is expected to premiere on HBO Max in December of this year.

According to several publications including Daily Mail, the outfit was described as a ‘an over-the-top Alexander McQueen getup complete with a billowing patterned maxi skirt and a gorgeous woven crop top with a plunging neckline.”

However since these outlets published this information, it has come to light that the ensemble is actually a couture lehenga by Indian design house, Falguni Shane Peacock, with the brand’s Instagram page posting stories about the outfit today.

Other stars were also pictured wearing desi-inspired outfits, including British star Sarita Choudhury who was photographed in a chevron and floral patterned sari.

I guess we’ll have to stay tuned for the show’s release to discover why Carrie Bradshaw, arguably one of television’s biggest fashion inspirations, is embracing Indian attire!
