On the great political chessboard, some moves are considered more dubious than others. With that in mind, India’s recent banning of 59 Chinese-made mobile apps, ostensibly for the sake of privacy (and including the ridiculously popular TikTok) has raised more than a few eyebrows across the world. Whether the ban is a vigilant attempt at safeguarding the data of India’s citizens, or a more politically oriented decision, one thing is certain: the world will sorely miss Indian TikTok users’ hastily made imitations of Bollywood dances.
