The most binge-worthy releases on Netflix, Prime and Disney+

QALA (NETFLIX)
Netflix have collaborated with Clean State Filmz to bring a new psychological drama set
somewhere between the 1930s and 1950s. Triptii Dimiri stars as Qala, a rising singer, and the movie follows her path to stardom while she grapples with the ups and down of success, men, and her constant need to please her mother. Anvitaa Dutt, who has previously worked with Triptii on Bulbbul (2020), directed the film. Her onscreen mother is played by Swastika Mukherjee while Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan makes his debut.
Release date: 1st December
FIREFLY LANE SEASON 2 (NETFLIX)
The Firefly Lane girls are back to kick off part one of the second and fi nal season of this American drama. The fi rst season left us wondering why the two childhood friends Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke) had a fall-out after Kate refuses to allow Tully into her dad’s funeral. The audience also see the aftermath of Johnny’s (Ben Lawson) injury from Iraq and how his love story with Kate began all those many moons ago. While Tully had quit her show towards the ending of the first season, she seems to be creating a documentary on finding her father in this new season.

SOMETHING FROM TIFFANY’S (PRIME VIDEO)
Amazon Studios brings their audience a festive rom-com for the season, starring Zoey Deutch and Kendrick Sampson. Set in the big apple as the streets are lined with lights, Rachel and Ethan cross paths with a little help from a mix-up of two of Tiffany & Co.’s iconic blue boxes. The exchange leads them to question their current relationship, and if
their respective partners are their soulmates. The film is based on Melissa Hill’s romance novel with the same name, and directed by Daryl Wein.

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: KAHMUNRAH RISES AGAIN (DISNEY+ HOTSTAR)
In an animated continuation of the Century Studios franchise, the storyline of the movie revolves around Nick Daley, the son of Larry Daley (Ben Stiller). Nick, starring Joshua Bassett, has replaced his dad as night guard at the Museum of National History in New York City, and the film will follow the shenanigans that ensue. Expect to see familiar characters such as the T-Rex, Rexy, alongside an introduction of new faces. Shawn Levy, the original director of the live action movies, won’t be directing this film, but is a producer.
