As part of Amari Bangkok‘s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, this year’s Christmas tree, standing tall in the heart of the hotel’s grand lobby, is made entirely from the iconic Bo Sang umbrellas. Renowned for their beauty and handcrafted quality, these umbrellas are a symbol of local Thai artistry and Amari Bangkok’s commitment to cultural sustainability.

Each parasol that adorns the tree has been meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans of the Bo Sang Umbrella Village, located on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. In choosing to source these parasols directly from the community, Amari Bangkok takes a stand to support local crafts and promote cultural heritage.

In collaboration with Bangkok University, Amari Bangkok has also invited art students to lend their creative talents by painting parasols that will be displayed and later sold or auctioned. All proceeds will support the students’ education, nurturing the future generation of Thai artists.
