Who received coveted one or two star status?
This morning saw the official unveiling of the Michelin Guide‘s selection of Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as the release of The Michelin Guide Bangkok, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket & Phang-Na 2022, which features the 2022 Bib Gourmand, a curation of 133 recommended restaurants around the country. The unveiling of the starred restaurants at the ‘Michelin Star Revelation‘ saw many industry favourites maintaining their star status as well a few deserving new entrants.
Moreover, this year Michelin have decided to introduce two new awards: the MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award, which is given to a young starred chef with exceptional talent and great potential; the MICHELIN Guide Service Award, which recognises a restaurant personality who has a genuine passion for service; and the MICHELIN Green Star, given to one or more restaurants that embrace sustainability in their day-to-day operations. These awards were introduced to reiterate Michelin’s appreciation for the entire restaurant ecosystem, to boost morale among restaurant professionals who have endured a difficult few years, and to elevate Thailand’s F&B scene even further.
