Thar (Netflix)
Set in the 80s, Thar is a noir-inspired film directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary. The storyline follows the chief police officer, impeccably played by Anil Kapoor, investigating a murder in the city of Pushkar, Rajasthan. Playing the protagonist is his son, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor who seeks to avenge his past. Anticipate an action-filled thriller with dizzying twists and turns that Director Raj Singh Chaudhary called “an enthralling experience from beginning to end” with “powerhouse performers.”

The Quest (Disney+ Hotstar)
The Quest originally premiered as a competitive reality show on ABC in 2014, and is now being revived by Disney+. Set in the immersive fantasy world of Everealm, eight teenagers must compete in this hybrid reality show to fulfil a prophecy and restore balance within the realm when it is threatened by an evil sorceress. Produced by the creators of The Amazing Race and The Lord of The Rings, the show is set to bring a truly unique viewing experience to our screens.

Along for the ride (Netflix)
Based on Sarah Dessen’s best-selling novel of the same name, Along For The Ride is set in the idyllic seaside town of Colby. Two teenage insomniacs played by Emma Pasarow and Belmont Cameli spend their summer nights chasing adventure, stumbling upon love along the way. Screenwriter Sofia Alvarez, best known for her work in the smash-hit film series beginning with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018), is well-versed in the language of rom-coms so prepare the popcorn and set up a girl’s night in for this one.

The unsolved murder of Beverly Lynn Smith (Prime)
Amazon Studios and Muse Entertainment have come together to release a docuseries on a decades-old unsolved murder of a 22-year-old woman, Beverly Lynn Smith. On December 9th, Beverly was shot in the back of the head in Ontario, Canada, leaving behind her husband and 10-month-old baby. For 40 years, the police have been investigating this shocking case, with her neighbour at the time, Alan Smith, as the prime suspect. He was finally arrested 30 years after the murder, only for the charges to be dropped before he was inexplicably arrested again a few months later. Tune in to understand the intricacies of this controversial case, and why it has yet to be solved.
